Lohri is a festival of Indians, particularly Punjabi's, who give thanks to God for good harvest crop. This long awaited bonfire festival let people come out of their homes, wish each other happy lohri and celebrate the harvesting of the Rabi (winter) crops. Even children and adults enjoy the traditional folk songs and dances. Popcorns, peanuts and other food items are thrown into the fire as an offering to the God of Fire.
